I finally moved today into my temporary room in Opal Court.
The day started out with me having lectures 9-3, after which I came back to the reception only to be greeted by the moody australian bitch who was baffled at the idea of ordering me a taxi (which it had clearly stated in the letter they'd do). With this I took off for my room to finish packing my belongings and started to bring them down to the reception. Luckily by this time the other, nicer woman was there who didn't hesitate to order me a taxi, considering how much of a fuss I had made earlier about the whole situation. For this I was grateful.
Taxi arrived and I packed everything I considered important into the boot. We set off round the corner with the fair reaching an endearing £2.40. I had to pay for this. Obviously. Then I had to take the receipt to the manager and he would 'reimburse' me. He did so by waving a fiver and asking for change, of which I didn't have. He went to the taxi to get change. I didn't get any change.
Lugging all my things up 2 stories with no help whatsoever I was finally in my new room. Which I may add is a luxury double room. Sweet.
This doesn't start to make up for the ball ache of this whole situation.
I'll just be glad when the 4 weeks ahead are over.
